Anne Rae Design is a full-service, bespoke interior design firm that values our clients and crafting unique interiors above all else. We collaborate with our clients and use our knowledge, resources, and expertise to create interiors that stand the test of time.
Having studied and received degrees in interior design, we are educated. Having worked in this industry for over 20 years combined, we are experienced. Because of this, we identify and develop great design that is not only beautiful but functional and sensible. We create enduring interiors that we still love years later and, more importantly, so do our clients. Our passion for interior design shows through as we live in the details for creative design and start-to-finish project management.
At Anne Rae Design, the understanding and knowledge that we share with our clients allows them to put their trust in us. This trust is extremely important as we are faced with project challenges and important decisions. We understand our clients and what they want; this allows us to create a journey as stress-free as possible to their perfect interior. Whether we are working on a smaller residential renovation or a large-scale commercial interior, we provide personalized service that keeps our clients happy.
We believe in the importance of collaborating with clients to create an interior that reflects their vision and personal aesthetic. At Anne Rae Design, instead of specializing in a certain style, we focus on developing the client’s style with a clear vision and skillfulness. Every detail is thoughtfully considered and selected; colors, textures, materials, unique pieces, the list goes on. Though we work with diverse clients with different styles and needs, the end result is always a transformation that leaves a lasting impression.
Eletha Rae
Our Story
The name Anne Rae draws significance from my family roots. Anne is my middle name (my mother loved the European roots of the “e” at the end). Rae is my grandmother’s middle name. My grandmother, Eletha Rae, was in my life for only a short time, but I have wonderful memories of her. When I started Anne Rae Design, I knew I wanted to have a name that had meaningful origins. My grandmother’s spirit was so infectious, I wanted it to be a part of the firm.
Eletha Rae’s personality and the love and care that surrounded her is the soul of Anne Rae Design. She was nicknamed “Babe” embodying how much fun she was and how much fun it was to be with her. She was full of life, love, and vitality. Eletha Rae was also independent and a go-getter. She sought out a degree in interior design in her thirties (ambitious and uncommon at that time). Unfortunately, the school she attended did not offer the program but she charged on and found another profession to be passionate about, teaching, and was adored by her students and fellow staff. I am often reminded that she would be thrilled to be a part of my profession and that brings me closer to her knowing we had a common passion.

I originally began my undergraduate studies at Michigan State University in business with every intention of working in advertising. In the beginning, I wasn’t feeling completely fulfilled. After connecting with a new friend who was majoring in interior design it was apparent that I needed to pursue a different path. I quickly changed my major. I had to complete two semesters of design classes before they would even accept me into the competitive and small program. Once I started taking classes, that was it for me, I felt like I had found my place. These college years were critical to my journey because they made me realize what I truly wanted – I had to fight for it!
In 2012, I launched my own interior design firm, Anne Rae Design. After 10 years working in the industry, I knew it was time to take what I had learned and really own what I was capable of. I gained so much experience and created a vision for my own firm. I realized the diversity in clients and their needs. I met challenges and crafted my ability to meet and work through them. At Anne Rae Design, I’m still learning and loving what I do. Every project is different, which can create unexpected challenges, but it’s also what I really love about interior design. I get to immerse myself in projects and embrace different styles and clients. Beyond my passion for design, I love advocating for my clients as a guide to their vision. There is nothing better than when the end result is everything the client ever wanted and exceeds their expectations. I am so lucky to be able to do this and I’m honored to work with my colleagues and clients everyday.
I’ve always been a coastal kind of girl, having grown up on Lake Michigan and now a San Diego resident of many years. When I’m not at the office, buzzing through showrooms, or onsite working with clients, you can find me with my family – my incredibly supportive and loving husband Patrick, my silly, wild but sweet toddler Oliver, and our quirky, rescue pup Eddie. True to the San Diego lifestyle, I enjoy being outdoors and staying active with running and yoga.

I was born and raised in Madrid, completely fascinated by the abundance of architecture and design. I knew at an early age that I wanted to be responsible for some of that beauty in the world.
When I moved to the US at the age of 11, I was provided with a new playground full of possibilities. From high school in Florida to traveling along the East Coast, I found myself continuously drawn back to the world of design and architecture. Living amongst the skyscrapers of New York City, the monuments in our nation’s capital, and the historical homes of the south and its alluring lowcountry, I again became mesmerized by the beauty and awe of everyday life. In 2010, I packed up my car and moved to San Diego to enroll in design school fulfilling a lifelong dream.
After graduating from the Design Institute of San Diego with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts in Interior Design, I worked in design related jobs before settling in at Anne Rae Design. Almost 3 years later – I am thankful everyday that I get to wake up and work on projects that at one point were only in dreams. I find inspiration from everyday life and the beauty I see – from a unique garment in a magazine to a relaxing day at the beach. I enjoy the entire process of interior design but find the most gratifying aspect to be seeing ideas and plans come to life. Being able to provide a beautiful home or space for clients where memories will be made is extremely rewarding to me and it continues to push me daily.
When I’m not designing, I enjoy playing softball and spending time with my rowdy rabbit, Henry.
